Content marketing goes back to 1732 when Benjamin Franklin published Poor Richard's Almanac to promote his printing business. Since then, brands from Jell-O to Red Bull have used content to drive business success.
The quality of content matters. Although it's possible to generate large volumes of content using generative AI, typically the result is not particularly insightful or informative. Content is a “hits” game, where a small proportion - “the best” content - generates almost all the results, so quality is a better strategy than quantity.
